Regulation of the Minister for Environment (1st of march, 2018) contains compilation of new permitted exhaust gases and ash emissions. The document applies to some kinds of installations, combustion plants and devices adapted to the thermal waste treatment. Attached emission standards indicate tend to decrease this range of emission. For thermal waste treatment installations, at 11% oxygen, permitted emission of particulates is: (on average, diurnal) 10 mg/m3u, (on average, 30-minutes) 30 mg/m3u. In case of biomass power istallations the limit is 50 mg/m3u.
Such level of particulates emission, in case of solid fuel installations, cannot be guaranteed by precipitators which use gravity and centrifigual force as the only forces that participate in filtration. Therefore, in order to meet latest requirements, such installations must be equipped with electrostatic precipitators.
